Interview with illustrator Amber Vittoria:
FG: When did your passion for art start and how did it come to you?
Amber Vittoria: Drawing was something I loved to do since a young age; from coloring ravenously in coloring books to drawing my idols out of teen magazines, the idea of creating and failing whilst creating, was something I truly fell in love with.
FG: Where do you draw inspiration from for your artworks/illustrations? And how is your creative approach?
Amber Vittoria: Majority of my work is inspired by the women in my life, women I read and learn about, and women I pass by out in the world.
FG: Beside painting, which other art forms do you like?
Amber Vittoria: I love to draw and create works digitally.
FG: Which is the best advice you got as an artist?
Amber Vittoria: It is okay to not take everyone’s advice.
FG: Can you mention an artist, artwork or series of art projects that particularly influenced/inspired you in your work as an artist?
Amber Vittoria: I would say the song Clair De Lune gives me ongoing inspiration.
FG: When you work, do you prefer silence or listening to music? Which one?
Amber Vittoria: It depends on the day!
FG: Is there a tool or material you are dying to experiment with?
Amber Vittoria: I’d love to work with clay again once I have the space to do so! #newyorkcityliving
FG: Do you have a favourite quote or motto you often think about?
Amber Vittoria: It is okay to not always be okay.
FG: What do you need to feel happy?
Amber Vittoria: Knowing that not all days will be happy ones allows me to truly enjoy the ones that are.
