As a self portrait photographer she love to observe and uses her own perception of the world to create stories based of human natural feelings like fear, love, desire, desperation and superation. She uses a simple and clear aesthetic with very specific props like balloons and botanical elements, saturated color full of symbolism and avoiding busy backgrounds.

    Interview with photographer
    Fares Micue:

FG: If you should tell someone the story of your life, from where would you start?

Fares Micue: I would start when I moved to London at the age of 23, it was my first time staying by myself without my mum being around. That was the time where I started to think about my priorities and the things I wanted to achieve in life. Spending time by yourself is the only way to get to know your true self. By the time I decided to go back home I was already more mature and with a clearer vision of who I wanted to be.

FG: What inspired you to begin photography?

Fares Micue: I have always been a very sensitive person. My original dream was to be an actress because I loved the way they would transmit and portray different feelings and moods and with photography I did find the same feeling of sharing feelings and stories but with the perk of being in full control of everything.

FG: What is your most memorable photograph?

Fares Micue: It is difficult to choose just one but I would say Golden girl because, after creating that image, I finally felt that I had my own style. It was when I started to notice the pattern of saturated colors, botanical elements, balloons and simple backgrounds. I felt very happy.

FG: What is the story behind it?

Fares Micue: More than the story behind the picture, what make this image memorable for me is the feeling of accomplishment I felt after having created it. And I think that without knowing, just guided by intuition I created an image that reflects the feeling of being lucky and powerful, from which the confident posture and golden color.

    FG:
What kind of messages or emotions are you trying to evoke with your photographs?

Fares Micue: I am a highly positive person and this positively reflects in most of my images despite the melancholic feeling in some of them. I wish that anybody who view my images will feel powerful and positive, I want them to feel that they can achieve everything the set themselves to and that we can overcome everything. I want them to look inside themselves and get to know their souls in order to achieve happiness.

    FG:
Do you have a dream yet to come true? If so, which one?

Fares Micue: I am a dreamer so I have plenty of dreams to achieve yet, one of them is to do a solo exhibition because I would love to meet all the people who appreciate my art and be able to share a moment with them.

FG: What are your future projects? What are you working on at the moment?

    Fares Micue:
At the moments my plans are to keep creating, exploring and learning.
